Dr. Mathias Leys is a pulmonologist working in AZ Groeninge Kortrijk and as a consulting physician in UZ Leuven, Belgium. He graduated from the "Katholieke Universiteit Leuven" (KUL) and is specialised in respiratory medicine. Besides general pulmonary medicine and allergy he has over 10 years of experience in treating patients with pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary vascular diseases. He's member of the BERS working group on 'pulmonary vascular diseases' and the Belgian pulmonary professional organization.
UZ Leuven
Prof. Dr. Catharina Belge studied medicine at the Catholic University of Namur followed by the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) where she graduated in 2002. She was a research fellow of the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) and obtained her PhD degree in 2009. She specialized in respiratory medicine and is working in the Department of Respiratory Diseases at the University Hospitals Leuven. She is working at the Centre for Pulmonary Vascular Diseases and at the Centre of Sleep /Wake disorders and is Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven). She obtained a master degree in Pulmonary Vascular Diseases at the University of Bologna in 2012. She has over 10 years of experience in treating patients with pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary vascular diseases. She is chair of the Belgian Respiratory Society (BeRS) working group on Pulmonary Vascular Diseases and member of the Assembly on Pulmonary Vascular Diseases of the European Respiratory Society (ERS).
